Young, Quinlan Building

Elizabeth Quinlan was a very important woman in Minneapolis. She climbed the ranks at a clothing store here in town, but when she had the idea to sell "ready to wear" dresses off the shelf, she was laughed out of the room. Enlisting the help of another executive (Young), she started her own company.

For a long time she was the only female clothes buyer in New York City.

This building is the last building in Minneapolis to have manually operated elevators.
