1972 Suzuki 500 Titan

This one sat outside for quite a while...

1972 Suzuki 500 Titan

I owned this bike for a couple of years and never did much with it. I wanted get it back on the road, but I just never had the time. The former owner came back into town for a bit just as we were getting ready to move to a different house. I asked him if he wanted it back. He said he did and that was that. It's gone.

This early Suzuki Titan 500 was given to me by my pal Morgen for my helping him get rid of some of his junk so that he could move. That’s about all I can tell you about this, my most recent acquisition. That and the fact it has no title, high bars, and badly faded/spray bombed paint. It’s all here and I can’t wait to get it running.

I've decided that this project bike may just be one too many. The condition of this bike is salvageable, but it will take a bit of work. There are at least two things missing from this bike. The ignition switch and the oil pump cover. Neither are all that big a deal, but the rest of the bike is in iffy shape. The paint's pretty faded, the saddle is in pretty bad shape, the handlebars are tragically high and someone's spray painted the engine silver. It's not noticeable on first glance, but if you get close, you notice that the intake rubbers have silver paint on them. Another problem is that I don't have a title for this bike. The plates it has on it are about 7 years old and that means the state (of Minnesota) might still have it in their records. If you're interested in this bike, and have something I may want in trade, we should make a deal.
