Charles M. Loring
Charles M. Loring was a very imortant man to the city of Minneapolis. He is largely credited with being the father of
the Minneapolis park system. Loring was made head of the park board in the late 1880s and during his tenure plans were made
for the parkway system, and the lake front parks. In 1890, Loring Park was name after him to honor his contribution to the City.
